BALLARAT RD

Modest in scale but full of character, the renovation brings new life to a home blessed with abundant natural light and sweeping views over the river and Footscray Park. This project reimagines a 1990s two-bedroom brick veneer apartment on the banks of the Maribyrnong River in Footscray.

The brief was to refresh and improve the functionality of key spaces while working within the apartment’s existing structure. The kitchen and bathrooms were reconfigured for better flow and usability, while playful pops of colour in the finishes add vibrancy to the interiors.

To ground the scheme, new dark brown cork flooring was introduced throughout the ground floor, paired with crisp white film-faced plywood joinery. Together, these elements balance warmth, texture, and lightness — giving the apartment a contemporary feel without losing its relaxed riverside character.
